Learning, Growth & Wellbeing

At Goodwill Mozambique, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, heal, and discover what they are capable of. Our programme is designed to support each child academically, emotionally, socially, and creatively through a range of activities, clubs, and guided support sessions.
Our children attend school every day, which remains a central part of their development and future. Alongside their formal education, we provide additional support and enrichment to help them grow in confidence, strengthen their skills, and feel supported in every area of life.
On weekends, the children attend church and also enjoy outings and activities that allow them to experience joy, connection, and new experiences outside of their daily routine. These moments are an important part of creating balance, building community, and creating positive memories.
At Goodwill Mozambique, learning goes far beyond the classroom. We create an environment where children are encouraged to grow academically, emotionally, socially, creatively, and personally through a variety of structured activities and support systems.

Daily School Attendance

Our children attend school every day, giving them the opportunity to receive a formal education and build the foundation they need for the future. We believe that consistent access to schooling is one of the most important parts of helping each child thrive.

Daily Extra Lessons with a Tutor

To support their school education, we provide extra lessons every day with a tutor. These sessions help reinforce what the children are learning at school, offer individual support where needed, and encourage steady academic progress.

English Lessons

English is taught a couple of times each week, helping our children strengthen their language skills, improve communication, and build confidence. These lessons support school learning while also opening doors for future opportunities. We are proud to have Mr Nhammire leading these sessions, bringing energy, dedication, and encouragement to the children as they learn.

Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Support

Our social worker, Avelino, leads special sessions focused on emotional wellbeing, mental health, and personal growth. Through activities such as building trust with one another, sitting together to understand and analyse emotions, and encouraging open conversation, he helps the children develop emotional awareness and healthy ways to express themselves. These sessions also play an important role in building a strong sense of family, connection, and belonging within the home.

On Call Psychologist Support

We also have access to on call psychologist visits when needed. This ensures that children who require additional emotional or psychological support can receive professional care and guidance in a timely and compassionate way.

Weekend Church and Outings

On weekends, the children attend church and take part in outings and special activities. These experiences are important for spiritual grounding, community connection, and giving the children joyful moments beyond their usual routine.

Clubs

Sewing Club

Our sewing club gives children the opportunity to learn practical hands on skills while also encouraging patience, focus, and creativity. It is a wonderful way for them to gain confidence and develop abilities that may support them later in life.

Chess Club

Chess club helps children improve concentration, strategic thinking, patience, and problem solving. It teaches them to think ahead, make decisions carefully, and develop discipline in a fun and engaging way.

UNO Club

UNO club may look simple, but it plays an important role in helping children build social skills, memory, quick thinking, and healthy interaction with others. It is a fun activity that also encourages inclusion, confidence, and connection.

Baseball Lessons

Our baseball lessons give children the chance to stay active, work as a team, and enjoy the benefits of sport. Through baseball, they learn discipline, coordination, perseverance, and the value of supporting one another.

Soccer Club

Our children are also part of a soccer club, where they develop teamwork, discipline, commitment, and confidence. Being part of a team helps them stay active, build friendships, and experience the joy and pride that comes from working towards shared goals.

Why This Matters

Every lesson, club, and support session at Goodwill Mozambique is part of a bigger purpose. We are not only helping children with schoolwork, but also building resilience, confidence, creativity, emotional strength, and life skills that will serve them well into the future.
At Goodwill, learning is about far more than education alone. It is about helping each child feel seen, supported, and empowered to become the best version of themselves.
